The North Pole on Your iPhone
Increase your awareness of climate change, sea ice, and snow cover at The Cryosphere Today. This website from The UIUC Polar Research Group now has a feature to deliver the latest images straight to your iPhone.

In addition to near-real time data, the full site will focus on a specific region and shows the effects of rising arctic temperatures by comparing two images from the same date in different years.
Animated ice charts show the melting of multi-year sea ice, and multiple graphs detail the changes in north and south pole ice coverage from year to year. For those more technically (or meteorologically) minded, they also offer a detailed 'autopsy' of the 2007 sea ice minimum.
Data for the site is provided by the National Center for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) at the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
