Eulo Recycling Sink Reduces Wasted Water

Countless gallons are wasted every day in homes around the world simply by leaving the sink running while washing dishes or brushing your teeth. In fact, about 95 percent of all water entering a house ends up going down the drain. Eulo has come up with an ingenious solution for conserving water in the kitchen with its Grey Water Recycling Sink.

Eulo Grey Water Recycling Sink

Developed by Australian Ainslie Asher, the Eulo Grey Water Recycling Sink takes the used water going down the drain and sends it through a series of filtering steps before sending it out for other uses. First the water passes through a strainer to get rid of large particles such as food etc. After passing through the strainer the water uses gravity to pull it down through a carbon filter. Finally the water passes through ultra-violet light to kill any remaining germs and bacteria. The filtered water is then sent to the dishwasher. After it is used in the dishwasher it is sent outside to water the garden. The Eulo system also offers an option for adding dish detergent inline.

Unfortunately the Eulo Sink will retail at a whopping $3000 USD. However, it does show you how some ingenuity and a little technology can be put to use conserving water. One could imagine houses in the not to distant future having water tanks that need to be filled just a couple times a year because all the water for clothes and dish washing and showering is recycled. Maybe not toilet water though.
